Leroy Hosts G15 Awards Celebrating Race Equality in Housing
The 2025 G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards, held at County Hall in Westminster, honoured individuals and organisations driving meaningful progress in race equity and inclusion across the housing sector. Dr Leroy Logan MBE served as both keynote speaker and master of ceremonies for the evening, bringing his trademark insight and energy to a powerful celebration of leadership, allyship, and community impact.
Award winners included Hyde Group’s Nivia Lawrence, recognised as a rising future leader, and Tom Grundy, celebrated for his allyship in promoting inclusive practice. Resident voice was championed through Hawa Abdi of Notting Hill Genesis, while organisations such as Peabody and Southern Housing were acknowledged for their work in building inclusive networks and environments. A moving tribute marked the anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy, reinforcing the critical role of housing in safeguarding lives and dignity.
Reflecting on the night, Dr Logan described the awards as a vital reminder of the importance of sustained action, accountability, and courageous leadership. He praised the sector’s efforts while calling for continued momentum to ensure fairness and representation are at the heart of housing and public service delivery.
