Rise Up Jamaica Gala Raises £14,000 for Hurricane Melissa Relief
Dr Leroy Logan MBE was honoured to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Rise Up Jamaica Gala, an evening dedicated to raising vital funds for communities affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Bringing together leaders from business, public service, sport and the wider community, the gala celebrated the strength and resilience of the Jamaican diaspora while encouraging support for those rebuilding their lives following the devastation caused by the hurricane.
Guiding the evening's programme, Dr Logan helped create an atmosphere of generosity, reflection and hope as guests heard powerful stories and rallied behind the fundraising appeal. The event was organised by BBJ Management in partnership with Olympic champion Tessa Sanderson CBE and featured a distinguished line-up of supporters committed to making a difference.
The gala raised an outstanding £14,000, with proceeds going directly towards relief and recovery efforts in Jamaica. Dr Logan congratulated the organisers, volunteers and everyone who contributed to the evening's success, describing it as a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared purpose to support those in need.
